INFORMATIONS about the art:

Long before the advent of modern printing, devotional images served as cherished aids to prayer and contemplation. Found throughout Europe, they allowed the faithful to continue at home the spiritual reflection inspired by the sacred works they encountered in churches. The development of woodblock printing made these images far more widely available. Before then, privately owned religious imagery was largely limited to illuminated manuscripts and painted works, reserved for the clergy, the nobility, and wealthy patrons. In keeping with this tradition, each of our devotional images is crafted using a combination of high-definition digital reproduction and hand-mounted onto laid cotton paper using traditional methods. Every piece is individually assembled with the care and attention to detail of the workshops of the past, preserving the character and presence of these historic devotional prints.
