Tarotgraphe is among the last artisan workshops dedicated to traditional Tarot de Marseille cardmaking, using traditional techniques and high-quality cotton paper.
Our decks are meticulously handcrafted, in continuity with the tradition of my Marseille ancestors from the 17th and 18th centuries, with a focus on durability and historical authenticity.
Working from original sources held in museum and private collections, we restore each deck with care, removing the traces of time while preserving its original character, in order to retain the essence of the deck. Ultimately, we offer a deck as close as possible to how it would have appeared in its time.
Each Tarot is carefully crafted by a skilled artisan, making every piece truly unique and never exactly repeated.
Every deck reflects traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail, made for those who value authenticity, tradition, and heritage.

Fac similé restauré : Pour cette nouvelle édition, j’ai restauré la version originale du musée Fournier de Naipes d’après mes connaissances en histoire de l’art. Les lignes et contours effacés (visages, formes, lettres, chiffres; etc) ont été reconstitués et les couleurs ont retrouvées leur éclat d’origine. Les défauts de fabrication originellement présent ont toutefois été conservé afin de préserver l’authenticité de ce chef d’œuvre de l’histoire de l’art provençal.

Tarotgraphe
We are pleased to present a film documentary dedicated to Tarotgraphe, the tradition of the Marseille Tarot, and the historical craft of the Maîtres Cartiers of Provence, produced by La Maison du Tarot de Marseille in January 2024. Filmed between Marseille and Aix-en-Provence, the documentary follows the work behind Tarotgraphe and explores the history, techniques, and cultural heritage of traditional Tarot de Marseille cardmaking.
Through interviews, historical locations, and workshop footage, the film presents the legacy of the 17th and 18th century Marseille master cardmakers while documenting the complete process behind the creation of our decks from restoration work to the handcrafting of each Tarot. More than a documentary about Tarot, the film offers a rare look into one of the last workshops continuing the historical tradition of Marseille cardmaking.
